Contract Senior Azure Platform Engineer to join a high-profile AI & Data programme, working closely with our Lead Architects and reporting into the Solution Director (AI & Data).
This is a hands‑on role for an Azure platform expert to build, deliver, and evolve an enterprise‑scale Azure platform from the ground up.
You will play a central role in designing and engineering greenfield enterprise‑grade Azure landing zones, executing seamless hybrid integrations with on‑premise legacy estates, and supporting the rollout of Microsoft Fabric and its associated Azure services through an iterative discovery and development approach.
Key Responsibilities

- Execute end‑to‑end integration of the new Azure landing zones with existing on‑premise legacy estates and hybrid networking environments.
- Support the implementation, configuration, and adoption of Microsoft Fabric along with its associated Azure data services (e. g., Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Synapse).
- Collaborate directly with the Solution Director, Lead Architects, and key delivery stakeholders to refine and execute the platform roadmap.
- Conduct technical peer reviews, champion engineering best practices, and mentor mid‑level engineers within the delivery team.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Deep expertise as an Azure Platform Expert with extensive hands‑on experience engineering enterprise‑scale solutions.
- Proven track record of setting up greenfield enterprise‑grade Azure Landing Zones from initial architecture through to production delivery.
- Strong experience integrating Azure with on‑premise legacy estates and infrastructure (e. g., Express Route, VPN Gateways, hybrid identity, enterprise networking).
- Hands‑on experience integrating and supporting Microsoft Fabric and its connected Azure data ecosystem.
- Demonstrated ability to discover technical requirements and develop cloud platforms iteratively within modern agile environments.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) tools (e. g., Terraform, Bicep) and modern CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Strong collaboration, documentation, and communication skills across both technical teams and senior leadership.
