As a Data Analyst in a club of over 80 people, you will spend the majority of your time helping deliver client projects in data, build our data analysis capabilities, growing our product analysts and influencing how we think about data, both within AND and for our clients. You will be responsible for conducting effective analysis to clarify, evaluate complex business problems and requirements for change in a manner which supports the strategic goals of large projects. You will also be part of the Business Analysis and Product communities helping to nurture and grow team members practices and processes.

This will include:

  • Helping grow our Data Analysis capability
  • Building close relationships with analysts in your Club, understanding their needs and the challenges they are facing on client engagements.
  • Mentoring junior and mid‑level analysts in your club in the field of Data Analysis
  • Guiding and supporting the acquisition or improvement of data skills for the junior to senior developers in your Club, during their time in internal projects between client assignments
  • Helping define best practices and standards both in your Club and working as a part of the wider AND community, ensuring that they are followed during client assignment
  • Providing insight and conducting research in progressive data analysis techniques
  • Delivering progressive data solutions for clients
  • Documentation of requirements using various methods, such as: Roadmap; Process Mapping; Story Maps; Use Cases; Impact Mapping; Functional and Non‑Functional Requirements Specifications; Features (User Stories), Data Mapping and Data Profiling
  • Work across multiple teams that have high impact and importance for the business
  • Collaborating with the Principal Data Engineer to help establish both your Club’s and AND’s wider Data proposition and develop thought leadership
  • Championing and upholding high analysis quality standards and best practice
  • Representing the field of Data Analysis at company functions, including hiring, and within our client acquisition to support growth and academy teams
  • Engaging actively with our Consultancy Data Strategy and Insight practice, to help define and materialise clients’ data strategies

To do that, it’s essential you bring the following:

  • Experience of pragmatic, hands‑on analysis of enterprise‑scale data projects across the full SDLC from design to migration, integration and live service in an Agile environment
  • Hands‑on experience of modern software delivery techniques and tooling in the analysis space, including usage of Jira and Confluence (or equivalent), story mapping, estimation and dependency mapping
  • Experience in the field of Data Analysis, Science or Analytics including a keen understanding of industry best‑practice around standards, quality and continuous improvement
  • Experience of analysis and design of solutions using one or more from: SQL and noSQL technologies, data streaming, logging and monitoring tools, BI and Data Warehousing solutions and ETL and migration technologies
  • A thorough understanding of one or more from: Master Data Management, Data Lineage analysis, Metadata Management, Data Quality assessment and management, Data Transformation and migration
  • Ability to apply advanced analytics and statistics to business problems
  • Proven experience of working with large volumes of data, applying tools such as SAS, R, Python, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Looker
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to tell stories / influence with data

It’s helpful if you also have:

  • Consultancy experience across a number of sectors
  • Experience supporting and enabling analysis communities, helping them have purpose and influence on company policy and approach
  • Knowledge of and experience implementing modern technologies to deliver Data visualisation, personalisation or decision support tooling
  • Hands on technical experience implementing or managing SQL or noSQL solutions
  • Experience of leading small teams, including acting as Scrum master
