We’re looking for a Front‑End Shopify Developer to help us build fast, accessible, and beautiful e‑commerce experiences. You’ll be responsible for developing and optimising our Shopify storefronts, working closely with our digital designer to deliver high‑quality features that perform brilliantly for all users. This role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about code quality, accessibility, and performance, and understands how those things directly impact conversion and customer experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build, maintain, and improve our Shopify theme using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and Vanilla JavaScript
- Develop new features and UI components with a strong focus on accessibility (WCAG 2.1+)
- Optimise front‑end performance, improving Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP)
- Ensure the storefront works seamlessly across devices and browsers
- Collaborate with designers to faithfully implement designs while suggesting improvements
- Work with marketing and e‑commerce teams to support launches, campaigns, and experiments
- Integrate and customise Shopify apps and third‑party services
- Contribute to front‑end best practices, documentation, and code reviews
Who You Are
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills, knowledge, and experience:
Essential
- Passion for modern CSS and JavaScript API’s over complex frameworks
- Strong front‑end fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Demonstrable experience implementing accessible interfaces: Semantic HTML, ARIA where appropriate, keyboard navigation, screen reader support
- Strong understanding of front‑end performance optimisation: Lazy/Eager loading, asset optimisation, JS/CSS best practices, Core Web Vitals
- Experience developing themes or templates using Liquid or similar templating languages
- Experience working with GIT and build tools
- Ability to balance technical quality with commercial priorities
Nice to Have
- Experience with Shopify 2.0 and Online Store 2.0 architecture
- Familiarity with managing CSS and modern CSS methodologies
- Experience with analytics, A/B testing, or CRO tools
- Knowledge of SEO best practices for e‑commerce
- Experience in a fast‑growing or DTC environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities.
