The Role
Copywriter (Fixed‑term 2–3 months, flexible start). The role spans brand storytelling and high‑converting performance copy across campaigns, paid social, email, landing pages and product pages. The writer will be a central voice across the Brand, Creative and Performance Marketing teams and ensure all content is distinctive, on‑brand and results‑driven.
What Youll Be Doing
- Campaign Copywriting
- Write compelling copy for brand and seasonal campaigns: headlines, narratives, long‑form content and editorial.
- Develop copy territories and messaging frameworks that anchor campaigns and can be adapted across channels.
- Collaborate with Brand and Campaign teams to translate creative concepts into language.
- Write copy for NPD launches, brand moments and key seasonal activities, maintaining consistent voice.
- Performance Copywriting
- Write high‑impact copy for paid social ads on Meta and TikTok – hooks, headlines, body copy and CTAs.
- Produce variations at scale for testing and iteration.
- Write conversion‑focused copy for email campaigns, landing pages and product pages.
- Adapt tone, format and message for different audiences, channels and funnel stages.
- Tone of Voice & Brand Writing
- Guardianship of Ancient + Braves tone of voice across all written output.
- Translate complex product benefits and brand values into human, credible and compelling copy.
- Support the development and evolution of tone of voice guidelines.
- Brief and review copy from external agencies, freelancers and AI tools to ensure quality and consistency.
- Testing & Optimisation
- Work with the Performance Marketing team on a structured copy testing programme.
- Review performance data to understand effective copy and iterate accordingly.
- Stay up‑to‑date with platform trends and emerging best practices.
- Use AI tools to support copy production and ideation at scale.
WHO YOU ARE
- Portfolio demonstrating range – from campaign narratives and long‑form content to short‑form ads and CTAs.
- Proven copywriting experience across brand campaigns and performance marketing channels.
- Strong understanding of what makes copy perform on Meta and TikTok.
- Experience writing within a brand with a defined tone of voice, ideally in D2C, wellness, beauty or lifestyle.
- Comfortable using performance data to inform and improve copy.
- Ability to write quickly, at volume, without sacrificing craft or brand integrity.
- Collaborative cross‑functional experience with brand, creative and performance teams.
- A genuine love of language and an equal obsession with what it achieves.
- Comfortable switching between brand storytelling and direct response in a single day.
- Fast, organised and calm under competing deadlines.
- Open to feedback, happy to iterate.
- Curious about consumer behaviour, culture and what makes people connect with a brand.
