What you'll do
- Assist in the preparation of environmental assessments and reports, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct field investigations and site assessments to collect environmental data, including soil, water, and air samples.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to analyze data and develop solutions for environmental challenges faced by clients.
- Support the development of remediation plans and strategies for contaminated sites, ensuring effective and sustainable practices.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, clearly communicating technical information and project updates.
- Help in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documentation required for project approvals.
- Conduct literature reviews and research to stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in environmental engineering.
- Utilize software tools for data analysis and modeling to support project objectives and enhance decision-making processes.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and bids for new projects, contributing to the growth of the company's client base.
- Engage in continuous professional development through training and mentorship opportunities provided by Anchorqea.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including scientists and planners, to ensure comprehensive project approaches.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with company policies and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience, including internships or co-op positions.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards, such as NEPA, CERCLA, and RCRA.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel for fieldwork and site assessments as needed.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with environmental modeling software such as AutoCAD, GIS, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of sustainable engineering practices and green building certifications (e.g., LEED).
- Familiarity with ecological restoration techniques and environmental impact assessments.
- Membership in professional organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) or the Society of Environmental Engineers (SEE).
