Property Surveyor * Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne * Job Type: Full time, permanent * Hours: 37.5 per week * Salary: £47,000 plus £5,800 car allowance Role Overview You’ll ensure our homes are safe, compliant and well-maintained. As a Property/Building Surveyor in housing, you’ll manage a regional portfolio, leading inspections, repairs delivery and contractor performance to support residents to live independently. Key Responsibilities * Deliver responsive repairs and minor works safely, on time and within budget * Carry out site visits, pre- and post-inspections, and quality checks to ensure compliance * Manage contractors, variations and complex repairs across multiple locations * Monitor and control WIP, SLAs and KPIs to improve performance and reduce backlog * Diagnose defects and deliver practical, cost-effective repair solutions * Ensure compliance with Building Safety Regulations, fire safety and HHSRS * Resolve damp, mould and condensation (DMC) issues in line with best practice * Manage complaints effectively, using insight to improve services * Provide technical support for incidents including fires and SUIs * Work with residents and teams to maintain safe, high-quality homes Requirements * Experience in social housing, repairs, voids and contractor management * Strong knowledge of building pathology and health and safety legislation * Ability to manage WIP, data and multiple sites effectively * Strong communication and problem-solving skills * Degree (or equivalent) in building/construction (essential); MRICS/MCIOB (desirable) Benefits * 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (buy and sell available) * 24/7 digital GP, mental health support and virtual physio via (email address removed) * Free eye tests and flu jabs * Pension contributions up to 10% plus free life assurance at 3x your annual salary * Access to a 24/7 confidential advice line * Savings on tech, travel and essentials, plus optional Health Cash & Dental Plans * Ongoing career development About Anchor Anchor is England’s largest specialist housing provider, managing 54,000 homes across 1,500 locations.
