We are a successful, family-run construction business with a turnover of £25 million, operating across the South East. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Plant Hire Manager to join our team based at our Biggin Hill yard. This is a pivotal role with significant responsibility, offering the right candidate a long-term future within the company, including the potential to progress to a Director-level position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of our internal plant fleet
  • Supervise and coordinate the internal plant fitting and delivery team
  • Work with the accounts team to ensure timely and accurate invoicing
  • Manage daily plant deliveries and collections
  • Oversee PPE procurement, usage, and stock control
  • Maintain and manage plant and equipment inventory
  • Handle plant purchasing as and when required
  • Be hands-on with plant operations when needed
  • Opportunity to up sell the business and bring in customers where possible (External Plant Hire)

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in plant hire or equipment management within the construction sector - Min 5 Years
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • Comfortable being hands-on and supporting operational tasks
  • Commercially aware and confident in supplier negotiation
