We are a small-to-medium building & maintenance company working across residential and commercial projects throughout the south. We pride ourselves on high-quality workmanship across bricklaying, plastering, painting, groundworks and general building. We are now seeking a reliable, experienced Working Supervisor / Site Agent to manage on-site operations while also working hands-on with the team.
Job Purpose
As a Working Supervisor / Site Agent, you will oversee day-to-day site activities, coordinate trades and subcontractors, manage materials, and ensure all work is completed to high standards, safely and on time. This is a hands-on position; you will work on the tools when required while managing the site and team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site trades, including bricklaying, plastering, painting and groundworks.
- Lead a small team of tradespeople and subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered safely and efficiently.
- Carry out hands-on trade work as part of the working-supervisor role.
- Organise labour, materials, plant and equipment to maintain smooth site operations.
- Complete daily site records, progress reports and documentation.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and maintain health & safety compliance.
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and that all work meets project specifications.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers and stakeholders professionally.
- Troubleshoot issues on site and maintain a well-organised working environment.
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
- SSSTS (essential)
- Strong hands-on background in bricklaying, plastering, painting, groundworks or multi-trade construction.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team on site.
- Excellent organisation, communication and time-management skills.
- Good knowledge of UK health & safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Ability to manage a site while also working practically - flexible, proactive attitude.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
