The ideal candidate is a confident, strategic leader with a proven track record of surpassing goals and building high-performing sales or relationship development teams. You will lead by example, instilling a culture of excellence, motivation, and accountability within the sales organization. Your focus will be on developing and executing strategies that drive team performance to develop a large set of high‑value broker relationships which capture strong broker wallet share in Anchor’s current and future products while collaborating effectively across the Anchor organization to ensure this channel and team receives whatever support and tools they need to deliver strong results.

Establish and manage KPIs – total originations, growth by month/quarter/year, revenue per loan, minimum production by originator, cycle time, brokerage and broker wallet share, and other performance metrics ensuring individual and team accountability and success. You will be responsible to recruit, hire and train new members of the business development team, likely with a local or regional focus that maps to the universe of high‑value brokers and brokerages in the nation.

Expand Anchor Loans brand and origination volume nationally (with a primary focus outside of California), develop a robust growth strategy to gain market‑share, create broker awareness, penetration of RTL focused mortgage brokers, and effective management of the origination pipeline as well as oversight of originated loans to ensure a strong broker and customer experience and loan quality/performance.

Be a Market Leader – Represent Anchor Loans at key industry events, conferences, networking functions, and brokerage and broker meetings to grow your team’s book of business and establish the company as a trusted leader in real‑estate business purpose lending. Responsible for the development of credible aggressive but achievable sales forecasts and related budget expectations, specific to the indirect debt and equity broker focused sales channel. Note: We expect the person in this role to achieve at least $1‑$2 billion in loan originations within 3 years and at least 3‑4 billion within 5 years.

Build and Lead the Business Development Team – Confidently recruit, train, and mentor a team of skilled sales professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Establish a strategy for hiring and focusing business development professionals in and by market and region and travel frequently to lead from the front.

Develop Client Relationships – Guide your team in building lasting relationships with real estate, brokers and referral partners, positioning Anchor Loans as their preferred financing partner within our products. Develop and maintain a sales playbook, in coordination with other BU, to roll out product, pricing, sales or service updates/ changes to ensure proper communication and engagement.

Work with Anchor’s Chief Growth & Efficiency Officer (CG&E) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) to scope and ensure delivery of a best‑in‑class broker experience including broker portal, pricing tools, and broker/borrower technology engagement functionality. Be aware of Anchor’s pricing positioning in the market and look for opportunities to capture more market share with specials or campaigns, targeting RTL brokers.

Manage a proper protocol for all broker facing interaction to ensure consistent and quality customer care, and sales leadership client engagement. Conduct business with a high level of integrity and build a team that is highly ethical and aware of and proactively eliminates unethical brokers, borrowers, and any/all fraud.

Desired Skills And Qualifications

  • Proven success and extensive experience and a minimum of 5 years of TPO RTL, commercial or debt and equity real estate finance sales or sales management.
  • Driven to succeed, a team player and skilled in communications and client relations.
  • Detail oriented person who gains and maintains intimate knowledge of our sales, origination, and portfolio management documents, tools, and processes.
  • Deep experience with CRMs and related tools and functionality (reporting, journeys, conversion triggers).
  • Excellent time management skills with demonstrated ability to meet desired objectives.
  • Analytical mindset and skillset with ability to review and synthesize data for prospecting and lead generation efforts.
  • Adept at Pipeline Management with proficiency at hitting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Works effectively cross functionally across the business, representing their team, partners, and clients.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills – Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills that inspire trust and credibility with both the sales team and clients.
  • Tech Savvy – Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
  • Desire, and ability to travel frequently, across the nation to support relationship development where the target partners are, whether it be in their offices, conferences, client/borrower locations, or other locations.

Education: College Degree Preferred but not required.

This is a fully remote opportunity with travel expectations to Anchor's headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA, Deephaven's headquarters in Charlotte, NC, and to various industry events.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $250,000 – $300,000 per year, plus an annual discretionary bonus based on the performance of the individual and the company.
