Bank Housekeeper / Kitchen Assistant
We are looking for a flexible Bank colleague to support both our Housekeeping and Kitchen teams, providing cover as required.
Typical shift times:
- Housekeeping: 9:30am – 2:30pm / 3:30pm
- Kitchen: 6:00am – 4:00pm or 11:30am – 6:00pm
As this is a Bank position, hours are offered depending on the needs of the home and may include covering holidays, sickness and other periods of absence.
Reporting to the Home Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting both the housekeeping and kitchen teams as required.
- Ensuring the home is clean, pleasant and safe for our residents, colleagues and visitors.
- Carrying out cleaning duties in residents’ rooms and communal areas to a high standard.
- Using cleaning products and equipment safely and effectively, following instructions and health and safety procedures.
- Supporting with general kitchen duties when required.
- Helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home.
- Working as part of the wider home team to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for our residents.
Required knowledge and experience:
- Previous cleaning, housekeeping or kitchen experience is desirable.
- An understanding of how to use cleaning products safely.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment would be beneficial.
- An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding vulnerable adults.
- Awareness of workplace health and safety, including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
Required skills:
- Well organised with good time management skills.
- Flexible and willing to support different areas of the home.
- Friendly, approachable and able to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to prioritise duties around the needs of our residents.
