About the Role
We are currently supporting a number of primary and secondary schools across North West London who are seeking reliable and proactive Caretakers to join their teams. This is a key role within the school, responsible for maintaining a safe, secure and well‑presented environment for pupils, staff and visitors. Opportunities are available on both a long‑term and flexible basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and closing the school premises, including alarm systems
- Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks
- Ensuring the cleanliness, safety and security of the site
- Conducting regular health and safety checks
- Setting up rooms and facilities for lessons, events and activities
- Monitoring contractors on site where required
- Supporting with grounds maintenance where applicable
Requirements
- Previous experience in a caretaker, maintenance or facilities role (school experience desirable)
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Practical, hands‑on approach with good problem‑solving skills
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Good communication skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
