The Anchor Inn is a historic pub in Salterforth, about to embark on an exciting new chapter. Following a £250,000 renovation, we are set to re-open with a fresh look and a renewed commitment to quality, community, and memorable experiences. Our relaunch is scheduled for early July, and we are looking for a Head Chef who is ready to make their mark!
Role Overview
We are searching for a dynamic, creative, and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen through this transformation and beyond. You will have the unique opportunity to shape the menu, build your own team, and play a key part in establishing The Anchor Inn as a culinary destination in the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all kitchen operations, from opening preparations through to daily service
- Design, develop, and regularly update menus with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Recruit, train, and lead the kitchen team
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Maintain rigorous health, safety, and hygiene standards
- Manage ordering, stock control, and kitchen budgets
- Work closely with management on promotions, events, and new offerings
- Help shape the food culture and reputation of The Anchor Inn
About You
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef
- A passion for modern pub food and creative menu development
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, relaunch environment
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards
- Food hygiene certification (Level 3 or above preferred)
- Flexibility and a strong work ethic are essential

Required Qualifications

- Experience with food safety audits and Environmental Health Officer (EHO) inspections
- IT literacy for ordering, stock control, and compliance documentation
