The SENDCO, under the direction of the Headteacher, will:
- Determinethe strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy andprovision in the school
- Beresponsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordinationof specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or adisability
- Provideprofessional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents,and other agencies
Our ideal candidate will have:
- QualifiedTeacher Status and a relevant degree.
- RelevantSEND qualification or working towards
- Recentteaching experience with a strong track record of securing excellentoutcomes for students with SEND.
- Experienceanalysing national, local and school-level data to inform strategy andimprove outcomes for students with SEND.
- Experiencesupporting, challenging and developing teachers and support staff tostrengthen inclusive practice and pedagogy.
- Knowledgeof effective behaviour management strategies and SEMH support to helppupils thrive both academically and personally.
