An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and ambitious Yacht Broker to join our Plymouth Office. Individuals will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, have the drive and tenacity to build and develop relationships with clients and possess good working knowledge of both power boats and yachts.
Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated and professional Yacht Broker to join the team in the Ancasta office in Plymouth Yacht Haven. The successful candidate will play a key role as the primary point of contact between clients and the local office, driving sales and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a core member of the brokerage team, representing Ancasta International Boat Sales to clients and the public.
- Proactively source and secure new boat listings.
- Promote and sell both new and brokerage boats locally and across the Ancasta Group.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, clients, and fellow brokers.
- Contribute to the development and execution of sales strategies to achieve and exceed targets.
- Conduct sea trials with clients as required.
- Arrange and conduct viewings of boats for prospective buyers.
- Assist with boat movements and deliveries as necessary.
- Coordinate the cleaning and maintenance of boats, working with external providers when appropriate.
- Prepare all documentation required for the sale process, including: Bills of Sale, Change of ownership forms, Sale and Purchase Agreements, Invoices.
- Ensure full compliance with all brokerage processes and maintain accurate office records.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Represent the company at local and national boat shows as needed.
- Previous boat sales experience, or in areas such as real estate or vehicle sales, is highly desirable.
- Sound knowledge of the local marine environment, including clients, boats, marinas, and sailing clubs; desirable but not essential.
- Understanding of both power and sail vessels; desirable but not essential.
- Brokerage and / or new boat sales, including part-exchange transactions an advantage.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Positive, flexible, and approachable personality.
- Strong interpersonal and client liaison skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sales orientation.
- Competent IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Internet, and Email.
- Aware of Health & Safety regulations relevant to the marine industry.
