Expanding upon our Operations & Maintenance team, we are seeking to appoint a motivated individual into the South Wales region. In a welcoming, skilled and supportive team, you will play a key role in assisting the wider team with the daily operations of our water and wastewater networks. You will act as a dependable and proactive support to our subject matter experts in the region and be on hand for a variety of works that may arise, such as escorting contractors onsite, reading meters, collecting data and other maintenance requirements across the South Wales region. You will ideally be located in or around the Swansea or Merthyr Tydfil areas which will give you a good base for the role.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting our skilled technicians with maintenance tasks on a proactive and reactive basis
- Meter reading and data collection at different sites across the patch
- Escorting our contractors onsite with adherence to MOD requirements
- Assisting the wider team with routine tasks across water and wastewater facilities
- Maintaining our assets and equipment in line with contractual requirements and health, safety and environmental regulations
What You’ll Need:
- A basic level of industrial operations and maintenance experience
- A general level of IT literacy to support using MS Office and other IT applications
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A can-do, positive attitude with the ability to forge strong working relationships
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weathers and undertake a field-based role with daily travel
About you:
Due to the nature of sites on which we operate, the successful candidate must meet the security clearance requirements for the role which includes, but is not limited to, being a full-time resident of the UK for the past 5 years. Ability to obtain Security Clearance which involves a Criminal Record Check and a full MoD Security Application and associated verification processes. You must have a full, valid driving licence and be comfortable driving a van (company vehicle provided). This is a field-based role so you will be required to travel around the region. There will also be occasional travel outside of your region with overnight stays as required.
