Location: Hybrid, Barnsley, S75 1JN (min. 2 office days per week)

Salary: circa £58,000, depending on experience

Role Type: Permanent, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

As our Commercial Contract and Legal Manager, you will play a vital role in the Commercial Team, driving the successful delivery of the PFI agreement. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contract management, ensuring compliance and providing expert guidance on contractual obligations.
  • Assessing and managing commercial risk, handling compensation claims and developing strategic approaches to optimise financial outcomes for the business.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage compensation claims under the PFI agreement to maximise financial outcomes.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks, minimising potential issues for the business.
  • Advise stakeholders on contract obligations and ensure compliance with corrective actions.
  • Oversee contract management, including audits, reporting, document handling, and client meetings.
  • Develop exit plans for the PFI agreement to reduce financial and commercial risks.
  • Support the Senior Commercial Contract and Legal Manager when needed.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Law degree (or equivalent) with extensive commercial contract experience.
  • Proven commercial management expertise and strong contract administration knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities, capable of interpreting and presenting data and developing strategies.
  • PFI contract management experience, including regulatory and legal obligations.
  • In-depth understanding of contract law and its practical application.

Extra Information:

Due to the nature of sites on which we operate, the successful candidate must meet the security clearance requirements for the role which includes, but is not limited to, being a full-time resident of the UK for the past 5 years. Ability to obtain Security Clearance which involves a Criminal Record Check and a full MoD Security Application and associated verification processes. Be able to travel independently to various client sites, many of which are not on public transport routes.
