As an offshore CRO/Ops Technician you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating, monitoring and controlling process, utilities and marine systems. Part of a multi-disciplined Operations team, the role will combine Operations Technician duties in the field and Control Room Operator duties when required, ensuring continuous production and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor process, utility and marine systems to ensure safe and continuous production.
- Control and operate plant via central control room systems including DCS, ESD and Fire & Gas systems.
- Respond to alarms, trips and process upsets to minimise production loss.
- Perform safe isolation, reinstatement and start‑up/shutdown of plant and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with the Proscient permit to work system and safety procedures.
- Identify and report equipment faults and potential major hazards.
- Review logs and performance data to prevent failures and optimise operations.
- Coordinate with marine team to maintain facility stability.
- Perform routine sampling and analysis on process fluids following laboratory procedures.
- Carry out emergency response duties including fire team membership.
- Provide clear shift handovers and support team leadership when required.
- Accountable for the operation, control and monitoring of process plant and utility systems in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with AOC’s safety management system.
- Demonstrate high standards of commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in the safety and environmental performance of the Anasuria through active involvement in risk assessments, audits, and toolbox talks.
- Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success.
- Demonstrate excellent safety behaviours at all times and ensure AOC’s safety aspirations are communicated and maintained.
- Perform first line maintenance where possible, report any defects that cannot be immediately rectified to improve process reliability.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Operations Team Leader such as taking part in training, developing new recruits, preparing necessary reports, plant shutdown and start‑up procedures, etc.
- Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will safely increase efficiency in production, cost or time without loss of integrity.

Competence Requirements and Skills
Qualifications:
- HNC/NC or NVQ Level 3 in Process Operations or equivalent qualification.
- Emergency Response Certification.
- OPITO CRO Controlling Emergencies Assessment.
- Safe Isolation and Re‑instatement of Plant training (SIRPS).
- Advanced Gas Tester Level 1.
- Certificate of Competence in Oil in Water by IR Spectrophotometer.
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow and apply operational procedures and standards.
- Ability to work as part of a team and provide guidance to others.
- Computer literate with a demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Experience:
- Experience as a Control Room Operator / Operations Technician on offshore or FPSO installations.
- Demonstrable understanding of process safety and MAH prevention.
- Understanding of production loss elimination and production optimisation.
- Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or process industries.
- Familiarity with marine systems is desirable.
