We are seeking a versatile and highly skilled Principal Software Engineer who can work seamlessly across our frontend and backend services—from designing highly performant, intuitive modern user interfaces to building robust API services, Model Context Protocol (MCP) services, and autonomous AI agents. In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, and deployment of scalable Generative AI solutions, ensuring seamless integration into our core planning workflows. This is a unique role requiring deep software engineering expertise across both frontend and backend development, combined with hands-on experience building production-ready GenAI features. You will bridge the gap between backend APIs, custom MCP services, agentic workflows, and responsive modern user interfaces to deliver intelligent, automated planning experiences for our global customers.
Your Impact
- Technical Leadership & System Architecture: Architect, design, and deploy scalable Generative AI solutions, autonomous AI agents, and full-stack services (frontends and backend services) into production environments.
- End-to-End GenAI Development: Build comprehensive GenAI features including backend API services, custom tools, LLM model integration, and evaluation harnesses.
- AI Agents & MCP Integration: Design, build, and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and services that securely expose backend data and enterprise tools to agentic AI workflows. Implement robust orchestration, tool-calling capabilities, and multi-agent coordination.
- Full-Stack Engineering: Drive best practices across our full stack, guiding the development of responsive frontend applications (React/TypeScript) and robust, scalable backend services (Python, Java, Kotlin, or Node.js).
- LLM Observability & Reliability: Establish robust LLM observability, evaluations, and caching, implementing latency optimisations and comprehensive monitoring (logging, usage tracking, agent behaviour).
- Operational Excellence: Champion high availability, performance optimisation, and observability across frontends and backend microservices, focusing on practices that maintain platform reliability and optimise MTTD and MTTR.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Elevate the engineering organisation by mentoring senior and junior engineers, conducting rigorous code and system design reviews, and partnering with product managers to translate product visions into actionable technical roadmaps.
Qualifications
- Experience: Extensive professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-quality technical projects in a senior or principal role.
- AI & Agentic Production Exposure: Deep hands-on experience designing, deploying, and scaling agentic AI workflows, tool integrations, and GenAI features in production environments.
- Full-Stack Expertise: High proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (specifically React and TypeScript) and robust backend development languages (Python, Java/Kotlin, or Node.js).
- GenAI & MCP Knowledge: Deep understanding of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, agentic/multi-agent architectures, and building/consuming Model Context Protocol (MCP) services.
- System Observability & Quality: Strong experience with application observability, logging, and performance monitoring across distributed backend systems and frontend applications.
- Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and design teams to take ideas from prototype to production.
Desirable Skills
- Agentic Tools & Frameworks: Hands-on experience with agent orchestration frameworks and integrating AI agents with enterprise platforms.
- Observability Tooling: Experience with GenAI observability and evaluation tools.
- Industry Domain: Previous experience in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), financial planning, business analytics, or related enterprise SaaS environments.
- Community Contributions: Contributions to open-source agent frameworks, MCP servers, or published research in distributed systems or Generative AI.
