The Disaster Recovery & Capacity Manager directs Platform disaster response/crisis management activities in compliance with the Engineering and Customer requirements and helps provide and coordinate disaster preparedness with respect to the organisation’s Platform, helping ensure business continuity. They also ensure we have enough resources to meet current and future Platform demand efficiently, involving forecasting needs, capacity planning, monitoring performance (KPIs), managing risks (shortages/overloads), and developing strategies for optimisation, all while advising leadership and ensuring service level targets are met cost-effectively.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to influence the company’s direction on resilience and disaster recovery as part of the Platform Engineering team. Work with Engineering and Service Management to drive the disaster recovery (DR) and capacity planning strategy, developing frameworks, policies, and procedures for both Cloud and Data Center environments. Work with Engineering & Service Management to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle. Provide continuous feedback for risk management, mitigation, and prevention, while regularly reporting on all Disaster Recovery activities to stakeholders.

Strong background experience in IT operations and dedicated to capacity, disaster recovery operations and management. Understanding of current recovery solutions and high availability architectures for cloud and on-prem is needed. Understanding of current Capacity Management & Planning scenarios and tooling. Experience mentoring or coaching engineers in technical roles. Experience with Agile principles and practices. Knowledge of observability and monitoring best practices. Experience operating within one or more public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure).
