At Anaplan, we are a team of innovators focused on optimizing business decision-making through our leading AI-infused scenario planning and analysis platform so our customers can outpace their competition and the market. What unites Anaplanners across teams and geographies is our collective commitment to our customers’ success and to our Winning Culture. Coca-Cola, LinkedIn, Adobe, LVMH and Bayer are just a few of the 2,400+ global companies who rely on our best-in-class platform. We champion diversity of thought and ideas, we behave like leaders regardless of title, we are committed to achieving ambitious goals, and we love celebrating our wins – big and small.

The Core Resource Management (CRM) team is looking for a Platform Software Engineer to help us build and maintain the Kubernetes-powered platform that underpins Anaplan. Specifically, you'll be working on a cost optimisation project to track what hosting resources our customers are using and automatically right-size them (either larger or smaller). It's a fast-paced and strategically important project that we hope excites you as much as it excites us.

  • Deliver High-Quality Systems: You’ll write clean, efficient, and robust Rust code to build high performance services that are critical to the platform's stability and scalability.
  • Champion DevOps & Reliability: You will take ownership of your services throughout their lifecycle—from drafting Helm charts and Jenkins pipelines to setting up alerting, dashboards, and automated testing.
  • Shape Engineering Practices: As an engineer, you will influence our technical direction by participating in weekly system design discussions, conducting thorough code reviews, and helping to mentor junior team members.
  • Collaborate Across Boundaries: You’ll work closely with team members and the wider engineering community in our York office, helping to align our infrastructure efforts with the broader company strategy.

Proficiency in at least one modern backend or systems-level language (e.g., Rust, Go, C++, Python or Java) and a strong enthusiasm for working primarily in Rust. A track record of delivering complex projects into production. Hands-on experience making frequent deployments to live environments. Experience implementing and utilising monitoring, alerting, and logging frameworks. Experience working effectively in cross-functional Agile teams, collaborating closely with product managers and other engineering teams. Prior experience with platform cost optimisation, performance profiling, or capacity planning (FinOps) is a huge plus.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB): We believe attracting and retaining the best talent and fostering an inclusive culture strengthens our business. Build your career in a place where diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging aren’t just words on paper – this is what drives our innovation, it’s how we connect, and it contributes to what makes us a market leader. We believe in a hiring and working environment where all people are respected and valued, regardless of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, neurodiversity, disability status, citizenship, or any other aspect which makes people unique. We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, perform essential job functions, and receive equitable benefits and all privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.

How to prepare for a job interview at Anaplan Inc

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Anaplan Inc uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
