  • Communicate effectively; reach out to other teams involved in the delivery of your services and help information to flow between teams.
  • Foster a collaborative culture that emphasises operational maturity, automation, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the development and execution of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, Python, Juju, and GitHub.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organisation (including SRE, SecOps, and Product Engineering) to ensure private cloud services align with business goals and SLAs.
  • Manage and mentor team members, providing career development planning, coaching, and performance management.
  • Drive initiatives to optimise hardware utilisation and improve system performance across our physical data centres.
  • Leverage emerging AI tooling and frameworks to enhance the management, automation, and operations of our infrastructure environments.
  • Promote and uphold best practices in private cloud security, high availability, and scalability.
  • Evaluate new infrastructure technologies and vendor offerings to continually evolve the Anaplan Private Cloud stack.

Your Skills

  • Proven ability to lead diverse and distributed teams of technical professionals in a 24/7 large‑scale infrastructure environment.
  • Strong technical foundation in operating production private cloud services (OpenStack), hypervisors (KVM), and bare‑metal provisioning (MAAS/Ironic), coupled with a solid understanding of container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Experience with modern automation, configuration management, and DevOps practices (Terraform, Python, Ansible, Juju, Bash).
  • Experience with infrastructure observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki), security best practices, and infrastructure cost management.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills, with an ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving strict business and technology goals.
  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and preferably a master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience managing teams in an agile environment.
