Overview
Analox is a well established global leader in the research, development and manufacturing of complex gas sensing products and systems. Our equipment is used across a diverse range of markets and applications such as submarines, space, beverage and deep sea diving. We have 115 people. Analox operates from a purpose built 15,000 sq ft factory and offices in Stokesley Business Park, North Yorkshire, and from a remotely based sales and sales support team as well as a distribution centre in Houston, Texas. Overall Purpose of the Role
To provide mechanical design to NPI and legacy projects and products using the Analox design and development processes.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for mechanical design following the Analox design and development processes, guidelines and procedures.
- Responsible for pneumatic design following the Analox design and development processes, guidelines and procedures.
- Create and manage technical documentation such as drawings, bills of materials, technical descriptions etc.
- Develop, test and iterate prototype components and products.
- Review the work of engineering peers.
- Use technical expertise to contribute to project work.
- Write and/or perform verification and validation tests.
- Keep up to date in their relevant field - industry standards and guidelines.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum 2:1 Masters in Mechanical Engineering.
Skills/Experience:
- Use of 3D CAD design software.
- Basic knowledge of tolerance management and evaluation including GD&T.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and machining processes - their capabilities, limitations and tolerances etc.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstration of a university project or work placement project.
- Proficient use of Solidworks.
- Knowledge of basic pneumatic principles.
- Knowledge of Design for manufacture and assembly.
- Knowledge of quality/continuous improvement.
- 1 year (Industry placement).
Personal Attributes:
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
- Highly initiative.
- Clear communicator in the various formats.
