The Service and Installation Engineer is responsible for the installation and maintenance of advanced image and detection systems at Heathrow Airport. Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Install and commission Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) systems and associated components.
- Perform upgrades, retrofits and removals aligning with engineering changes.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently.
- Apply repair methodologies and recommend improvements.
- Conduct maintenance and provide technical support on equipment and systems.
- Assess performance and recommend modifications or enhancements.
- Provide technical support and training to customers and service professionals.
- Maintain effective communication and build positive customer relationships.
- Document inspections, maintenance, and repairs; submit paperwork promptly.
- Produce detailed service reports and maintain clear communication.
- Meet project installation goals and deadlines.
- Schedule and prioritize work to meet daily service demands.
- Maintain and calibrate tools and test equipment.
Education, Work Experience, Skills and Competencies Requirements:
- Technical degree (e.g., electrical, mechanical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- Over 5 years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, and field service.
- Strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills; quick to learn new technology.
- Professional demeanor with a customer-focused approach.
- Must pass all required pre-employment screening.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and passport for international travel.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport ID Badge and necessary security clearances, including public trust clearance.
- UK citizenship or permanent residency required.
- Must be able to work variable hours and perform manual handling tasks.
- Must live within commuting distance to Heathrow Airport.
