The ADI’s Custom Silicon & Consumer Solutions (CSS) team leads in sensing, signal processing, and power solutions, including Capacitive Sensing, Optical Image Stabilization, Optical Sensing, Audio, PMIC, and hybrid mixed-signal/power developments, driving growth in portable consumer markets.
The Business:
ADI’s CSS business provides high-volume consumer silicon solutions, enabling precise human interpretation and sensory assistance. We are expanding our power team to develop highly integrated power solutions and PMICs, offering career growth within a motivated global engineering team.
The Position: ADI seeks a PRINCIPAL DESIGNER, LAYOUT for our European CSS Layout Team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, eager to learn new technologies, and effective within a collaborative, multi-location team of analog, digital, mixed-signal CMOS designers, and engineers involved in state-of-the-art PMIC development. Responsibilities include:
- Leading layout of large-scale mixed-signal/PMIC chips, managing resources, scheduling, and interfacing across disciplines, including customer interactions and tapeout coordination.
- Executing top-level integration of large-scale chips, managing communication between IP owners, and ensuring verification sign-off.
- Developing IP layouts, collaborating with designers, and taking ownership of large sub-block layouts, including scheduling and customer documentation.
- Supporting team development through mentorship, recruitment, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Utilizing tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Mentor Graphics Calibre, and VXL, with expertise in layout practices, LVS/DRC/ERC interpretation, and ESD considerations.
Key Qualifications:
- BSc or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or related field.
- 15+ years in IC Layout.
- Scripting skills in PERL, SKILL, or AMPLE are advantageous.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary, multicultural, multi-site environments.
