The Smart Grid Solutions team is looking for an experienced electronics engineer to help develop new technologies for the changing power grid. Numerous global challenges such as climate change, vehicle electrification, and distributed renewable generation are putting immense pressure on existing power infrastructure. The Smart Grid Solutions team has been leading the development of technologies and solutions to help solve these problems.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Electronic Systems Engineer who can help develop new current and voltage sensing technologies for monitoring the grid. As a member of the applications team, you will play a key role in developing and commercializing new technologies. You will be involved throughout the product development lifecycle from early R&D, proof-of-concept development, product definition, development, and system testing. You will work closely with our customers and partners to define system requirements and develop proof of concept demonstrations to showcase our technologies.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop new sensor technologies including current, voltage, and environmental sensors
- Develop signal conditioning and converter circuits
- Prototype and test new circuits in the laboratory
- Build demo systems to showcase new technologies to our customers
- Work closely with other teams to create complete products including mechanical engineers, IC designers, and software engineers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Masterβs degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Electronic Engineering role
- Analog circuit design experience
- PCB design experience
- Good understanding of current sensor technologies such as current transformers, Hall effect sensors, shunt resistors, and Rogowski coils
- Technically savvy and showing an aptitude for new and innovative technologies
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and articulate system requirements as part of a broader strategy
- Good team player, who enjoys working in a highly dynamic team environment
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to visit customers and colleagues in the U.S. and Europe
