National law firm is looking for lawyers to join its national police team delivering cases in Sussex Magistrates’ and County Courts.
Role Overview:
You will be working for a major law firm supporting the local police constabulary. You will work presenting cases heard in courts in Sussex, primarily Brighton.
Duties include:
- Advising, preparing and presenting cases in the Magistrates’ Court including Domestic Violence Protection Orders, Stalking Protection Orders, Sexual Harm Prevention Orders, Sexual Risk Orders, Anti-Social Behaviour injunctions and closure orders.
- Effectively managing family disclosure and Police Property Act cases.
- Running your cases including liaising with clients, opponents, court and witnesses.
- Opening files and drafting all paperwork for the civil order applications.
- Managing your own management information data input completion, administration and diary keeping.
- Advocacy, mainly at Magistrates Court.
Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience handling work in the Magistrates’ and/or County Court.
- Confident advocate.
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister.
