We are seeking a Benchhand to join this rapidly expanding aerospace precision engineering company. This role focuses on the deburring, grinding, fettling, polishing and final finishing of precision machined metal components to exacting standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform grinding, fettling, polishing and hand-finishing operations on precision machined metal parts
- Remove burrs, flash and machining marks while preserving dimensional integrity and surface finish
- Work to tight tolerances and aerospace surface finish specifications
- Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and finish specifications
- Use hand tools, bench grinders, files, polishers and abrasive systems safely and effectively
- Maintain accurate work records and follow quality control procedures
- Ensure work area cleanliness and adherence to health & safety practices
Skills And Experience Required
- Proven experience in deburring, grinding, fettling, polishing and finishing of metal parts, preferably for aerospace or other high-spec industries
- Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve consistent surface finishes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and finish specifications
- Competent with hand and power finishing tools
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a production team
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when required
- Right to work and ability to pass any required background or security checks
