Introduction
Open Market technical support in the Worldwide Property Division on Insurance/Reinsurance, single slip/multi-layered programmes, including catastrophe exposed areas.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the Global team servicing business as required by the Division, into the London and International market always ensuring client needs are met.
- Day to day client servicing from initial submission of risks to hand over to technical team for invoicing.
- Check client record is set up in the broking system, preparing approval forms where necessary.
- Prepare renewal presentations for brokers to underwriters.
- Analyse the insured risk in conjunction with the Broker and/or Producer to assess the client requirements, including working on schematics as required by the placement.
- Prepare Open Market Reform Contracts including endorsements and any adjustments, working in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring conditions and terms of cover in response to client's needs.
- Produce client documentation as required by departmental procedures, complying with internal service standards and FCA, ensuring Contract Certainty.
- Diary subjectivities/premium payment warranties and conditions and liaise with client and Broker to ensure they are complied with.
- Prepare statistical analysis including loss runs where necessary.
- Liaising with Cheltenham to ensure prompt and accurate issuance of invoices.
- Build strong working relationships with Amwins International offices and independent producers, underwriters and Cheltenham, attending internal and external meetings as required.
- Keep abreast of market and regulatory and tax requirements relating to the portfolio in line with individual placement.
- Ensure compliance with external and internal guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Review internal reports and liaise with Cheltenham teams to ensure all client cashes and aged debts are cleared.
- Provide guidance to less experienced members of the Open Market technical team.
- Undertake any other responsibilities which may become necessary for the proper performance of the role.
Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications
- Experience handling Worldwide Open Market business, in particular Global business.
- An understanding of regulatory and tax requirements in the territories concerned, using Crystal where appropriate.
- Working knowledge of Crystal.
- Use of Electronic Placement systems.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office programmes, Outlook, Internet Explorer and Total Objects/GXBA.
- Able to use mathematical ideas and techniques.
- Can manage own workload and act independently.
- Self-motivated and enjoy problem solving.
- Able to collect, analyse and organise information and workload.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others β strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills (including written and verbal (both internally and externally).
- Understanding and affinity for relationship building.
