Amwins Global Risks is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our IT team and help us maintain and deploy our applications and services. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our systems, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise. You will also work on automating processes and improving our infrastructure using various tools and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor the Windows servers and the Internet Information Services (IIS) web servers.
- Deploy websites and APIs to IIS using Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Be familiar with the logging in IIS and the general Windows logging in the event viewer.
- Work with various databases, mostly SQL Server and some Mongo/Cosmo, and have basic SQL experience.
- Manage your work and provide status updates using Azure DevOps Boards.
- Transition from classic pipelines to YAML and GitHub for deploying and versioning the applications.
- Use Git to navigate and understand the application code, mostly in C#.
- Automate tasks and processes using PowerShell and Azure CLI scripting languages.
- Work through problem-solving and dig into the root causes of issues using tools such as Seq and Dynatrace.
- Collaborate with other IT teams, QA teams, and developers.
- Learn and adapt to new technologies and trends, such as containerization and Linux-based systems.
Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of experience as a systems engineer, systems administrator, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and IIS web servers.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, YAML, PowerShell, and Azure CLI.
- Experience with SQL Server and other databases.
- Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving tools such as Seq and Dynatrace.
- Basic understanding of C# and other programming languages.
- Basic knowledge of networking and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing system.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and grow.
