The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

PAY RATE: £16.55 per hour

HOURS: 45hrs per week Mon-Fri 0800-1700

THE ROLE: The Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day security operations at a very busy educational site. The candidate must be capable of managing and motivating a team, to ensure the highest standard of service delivery, whilst continuing to strive for continuous improvement. The role also relies heavily on strong judgment, professionalism and the confidence of the individual to manage emergency and routine situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the site ensuring that all staff carry out their duties according to the assignment and post instructions.
  • Responsible for ensuring that staffing levels are met (and not exceeded) according to the contract requirements.
  • Take ownership, responsibility and accountability of all daily operations, and to support the Operations Manager in the smooth running of the contract.
  • Manage, motivate and develop the on-site team to achieve the best possible performance and levels of service.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of routine and emergency procedures and be able to respond efficiently and appropriately to any eventuality.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service, ensuring that all persons either visiting or working at the site are treated courteously and professionally at all times.
  • Effectively manage site manning and rosters in order to comply with the contracted hours and ad hoc requests.
  • Oversee all CCTV monitoring and related tasks, in-line with SOPs.
  • Respond and manage all incidents and follow escalation procedures.
  • Communicate with operational staff concerning incidents, ensuring that all information escalation routines are observed.
  • Oversee and operate the client fire system correctly, while also ensuring all other officers are sufficiently trained and capable of using the system without fault.
  • Manage the Security operation, email account inbox, CCTV and telephones at all times, responding promptly and appropriately to requests and duties.
  • Management of site Access Control System, including oversight of alarm response.
  • Constantly strive for continuous improvement whilst assisting the Operations Manager to deliver against Strategic Objectives.
  • Provide the highest standards of written reports.
  • Manage direct reports holiday in line with company policy, ensuring all leave is booked and covered.
  • Ensure all security officers are conducting the correct patrols/breaks at the correct, designated times.
  • Deliver on site training to their team to ensure they are fully conversant in their job roles.
  • Inspect equipment for failures and faults.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of all/any events.
  • Ensure Security Officers complete accurate records and logs of the highest standards.
  • Be responsible for the administration, issue and return of all keys and radio communication equipment.
  • Comply with Amulet policies and procedures advising the Operations Manager on any failures to comply and ensure the correct action is taken to resolve such issues.
  • Act as an ambassador to the client organisation ensuring that their business is represented in the highest manner in all the duties undertaken by you, and by the security team.

SKILLS:

  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced security supervisory/management role.
  • Experience in educational environment is a bonus.
  • Experience of managing CCTV, Fire and Access Control Systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to include the ability to compile reports.
  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to work competently in multiple system applications.
  • Customer service experience, Leadership skills/experience or a willingness to develop supervisory skills.
  • Excellent personnel management and client facing skills.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and follow a wide range of procedures and processes.
  • An alert, inquisitive and pro-active mindset is required to undertake investigations without direction.
  • A highly organised individual with the ability to work in a high-pressure and evolving environment.
  • An individual that is security minded, but also customer focused.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective, professional working relationships with all, client, staff and visitors.
  • Report and assessment writing.
  • Full 5 year checkable employment / academic history.

LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Front Line SIA licence
  • Door Supervisor
  • CCTV Licence
  • FAAW (3-day)
  • Must be able to obtain Enhanced DBS (clean)

Eligibility documents helpful to bring with you to interview: Passport or Full Birth Certificate; Utility Bill showing current address and dated within 3 months; Proof of National Insurance (Payslips cannot be used) such as NI card, P45, P60, benefits or HMRC letter.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

You must be able to provide a check-able 5-year employment history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods in receipt of benefits). Possession of a First Aid at Work Certificate is desirable.
