PAY RATE: £14.50 per hour

HOURS: Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:45

THE ROLE: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team. The Security Officer will be responsible for overseeing the security operations and ensuring the safety of our premises, employees, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security procedures, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to handle emergency situations with calmness and efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Conduct regular patrols to ensure the premises are secure.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras and respond to any suspicious activities or incidents.
  • Train security staff on emergency response procedures.
  • Investigate security breaches or incidents and provide detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of security incidents and actions taken.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential security risks or vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage the CCTV and emergency systems on site.
  • Assist the ground team with camera support and reviewing of footage.
  • Deal with incidents, customer service, contractors, staff and customer security checks.
  • Support Patrols, Back of House Patrols, Shop Units & Escalator Checks along with any ad-hoc duties as directed by the Security Manager or the Client.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with the assignment instructions.
  • Be aware of the obligations under the Health and Safety regulations concerning their own safety, that of their colleagues and tenants, and deter unauthorised personnel from gaining access to the Centre.

SKILLS:

  • Proven experience as a Security Supervisor or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of security procedures, protocols, and best practices.
  • Experience in surveillance techniques and CCTV operation.
  • Familiarity with first aid and emergency response procedures.
  • Knowledge of loss prevention strategies and techniques.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:

You must have a current SIA Licence. Possession of a First Aid at Work Certificate and UK Driving Licence is desirable.

INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS:

Eligibility documents needed at interview: Passport or Full Birth Certificate; Utility Bill showing current address and dated within 3 months; Proof of National Insurance (Payslips cannot be used) such as NI card, P45, P60, benefits or HMRC letter.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

You must be able to provide a checkable 5-year employment history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods in receipt of benefits).
