THE ROLE: Are you passionate about public safety and customer service? Join our team as a Travel Safe Officer, where you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety, welfare, and comfort of passengers across the rail network.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patrol trains and stations to ensure passenger safety and welfare.
- Support Station/Train Managers in managing anti-social behaviour (ASB), fare evasion, and enforcement of railway byelaws.
- Assist with customer inquiries and provide visible reassurance to the travelling public.
- Respond to safeguarding concerns and offer support to vulnerable individuals.
- Collaborate with rail staff, British Transport Police, and other stakeholders to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
SKILLS:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, confident approach to handling challenging situations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- You must have a current SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Possession of a First Aid at Work Certificate and/or Fire Marshal is desirable.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
You must be able to provide a checkable 5-year employment and address history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods when claiming benefits).
