We’re now looking for an Assistant Underwriter to join our London based underwriting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated graduate or early‑career professional who is eager to learn, develop their technical skills, and build a long‑term career in underwriting. Whether you’ve gained experience through internships or have had exposure to underwriting or other areas within insurance, this role offers hands‑on experience and clear development opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with data analysis and reporting, including preparing and maintaining underwriting reports using Excel.
  • Help maintain broker and client relationships through effective communication and timely responses.
  • Research new business opportunities and monitor market trends.
  • Keep accurate underwriting records.
  • Contribute to compliance and regulatory processes.

We’re looking for a candidate with a strong academic background, ideally in a numerate or business‑focused discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or Business. You may have gained some experience in insurance through an internship or up to 1–2 years in a similar role, with any underwriting exposure considered advantageous but not essential. You’ll bring strong analytical skills and confidence working with data, alongside solid Excel and reporting capabilities. Excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a proactive attitude are key, as is strong attention to detail and a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
