Role Overview
This role is key in ensuring the accurate and timely management of AR-related processes across all Irish entities within the Group, as well as UK. You will be responsible for supporting financial operations, financial reporting, improving internal controls, and maintaining positive relationships with customers to facilitate effective cash collection. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A CREDIT CONTROL POSITION.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Finance AR inbox: ensuring all customer queries are addressed promptly and accurately
- Bank postings and reconciliations: maintaining up-to-date financial records
- Revenue reconciliations: Perform reconciliations between invoiced amounts and recorded revenue data; identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate and dependable financial reporting.
- Deferred/accrued revenue management: Prepare deferred/accrued revenue calculations, process related journal postings, and reconcile balances to support accurate period-based revenue recognition.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations (AR & Revenue): Manage supporting schedules for AR and revenue accounts, validate balances, and provide clear audit-ready backing for all reported figures.
- Customer communication: Contact customers via phone, email, or letter to resolve payment issues and provide invoice-related support
- Account reconciliation: Reconcile customer accounts, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate payment recording. Collaborate with account managers to enhance data integrity, reporting quality, and process efficiency.
- Invoicing: Generate and issue accurate customer invoices in line with agreed timelines
- Cash receipts / Payment handling: Process incoming payments from customers and ensure proper allocation
- Process improvement: Assist the Finance Manager in enhancing financial controls, systems, and processes across the function
- Data entry and record-keeping: Maintain precise records of customer transactions, credit limits, and outstanding balances
- Reporting: Assist in preparing aged debtor reports and cash flow updates for management and senior stakeholders
- Internal collaboration: Work closely with sales, finance, and customer service teams to resolve issues and support smooth financial operations
- Credit policy compliance: Ensure adherence to internal credit policies and contribute ideas for improving credit control processes
- Other admin/ad hoc duties as required to support the wider finance function
Required skills and experience
- Ideally experience in Accounts Receivable /Accounting.
- Ideally revenue rec/analysis and deferred/accrued experience
- Ideally Netsuite experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organisational accuracy.
- Capable of constructively challenging processes and identifying improvements.
- Collaborative yet able to work independently.
