1. JOB DESCRIPTION
Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant / Senior Accounts Executive to support the finance reporting function of the Clearing & Settlement Department. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of financial information arising from daily trade settlement and clearing activities.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Clearing & Settlement and the Finance Department to prepare monthly financial reports, management reports, and supporting schedules for month-end closing. The role will also provide operational support to the Clearing & Settlement team during daily settlement activities as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly finance reports relating to trade clearing and settlement activities for submission to the Finance Department.
- Support month-end closing activities related to revenue and settlement accounts.
- Reconcile trading revenue against system reports, bank statements, and settlement records.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Manage customer invoicing and monthly statements.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documents for settlement related accounts.
- Assist Management in preparing ad hoc financial and operational reports.
- Assist the Clearing & Settlement team with daily settlement and clearing activities as required to ensure smooth business operations
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a securities brokerage, financial institution, or financial services environment.
- Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
- Well-organised and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to trade settlement or clearing operations will be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Good written, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Operations and Finance teams.
