Summary of Role

To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the construction site, directly influencing the successful delivery of a large architectural package of works at Deeside (Shotton Paper Mill). The role reports directly to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Site Supervision: Managing day‑to‑day site activities to maintain safe and efficient work.
  • Safety Management: Implementing and enforcing health and safety regulations; conducting regular site inspections.
  • Workforce Coordination: Supervising workers and subcontractors, assigning tasks, ensuring materials and tools are available.
  • Quality Control: Monitoring construction activities to meet standards and specifications; performing regular inspections.
  • Scheduling & Planning: Creating and maintaining project schedules, coordinating trades, adjusting plans for delays.
  • Material Management: Overseeing delivery, storage, and use of materials; preventing damage or loss.
  • Problem‑Solving: Identifying and resolving delays, technical problems, or resource shortages.
  • Communication: Serving as primary on‑site contact; liaising with managers, engineers, architects, and clients.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Keeping accurate logs, progress reports, and incident reports; providing updates to stakeholders.
  • Leadership & Management: Leading a team to ensure collaboration and productivity.
  • Technical Knowledge: In‑depth understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring all project aspects meet quality and regulatory standards.
  • Time Management: Managing time and resources to meet deadlines.
  • Safety Awareness: Thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Must Haves

  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • CSCS Card
  • NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management (or similar)
  • First Aid at Work certification
  • 10 years of interior finishes experience
  • Trade background preferred

Competitive salary (negotiable based on experience and qualifications), typical site hours 07:30 am – 05:30 pm Monday to Friday; flexible freelance or PAYE terms.
