The Senior Manager, Data Governance is accountable for ensuring the successful creation, maintenance and operationalisation of standardized data governance principles, practices & tooling for operational client data across AMS. This role is focused on the design, development & execution of data governance strategy & roadmaps related to improving; data quality, security, usability, traceability and accessibility/availability. This role also focuses on efficiencies around collection, storage, cleansing, publishing and maintenance of data as it is aggregated and made available to internal and client teams – enabling the democratization of data more broadly across AMS, i.e. in order to support sales and growth teams to ensure 100% client renewal. The successful candidate will have experience in, and be ready to assume ownership for designing, delivering & deploying (with internal Team resource and/or external partners as necessary), appropriate tooling (i.e. metadata management, data quality automation checks, data lineage capture, data cataloguing, data dictionary), in order to deliver quantifiable improvements in the level of AMS\’ data quality & governance. The Senior Manager, Data Governance will collaborate closely with internal AMS teams to ensure the right data quality, governance, security & compliance standards & procedures are in place and underpin all I&I output, adhering to project timelines and pro-actively working to prevent future operational challenges. They will partner with internal AMS Teams (e.g. DPO / InfoSec / Legal / Technology), enabling I&I teams to deploy and translate all new data regulations and policies into I&I processes, ensuring documentation is updated in the AMS \’Data Playbook\’ and in client reporting documentation and updated Ways of Working are successfully integrated into client solutions. The role is essential for driving operational \’data excellence\’, ensuring to deliver impactful, compliant and scalable solutions for clients. Key Accountabilities You\’ll support our success by: Data Governance Roadmap – ownership, definition & execution of the AMS data governance strategy. Track progress, address challenges, quantify business impact of data governance initiatives for all existing data sources, as well as new/future sources. Data Quality Framework – Develop a comprehensive data quality framework, with clear success criteria / metrics. To include; data profiling, cleansing & enrichment processes. To consider data quality monitoring systems with automated alerting for anomalies. Creation of remediation processes for addressing data quality issues. Data Stewardship – Design and implement Master Data Management (MDM) strategy, promoting the data governance proposition to client account teams and to design and implement a \’data ownership / stewardship\’ model with clear accountability structures. Data Governance Documentation – of AMS data governance principles including quality, accessibility, quality assurance, methodology, compliance, etc, identifying areas for improvements and actively closes gaps in content aligned with AMS data strategy objectives. Deployment of Data Governance Principles – oversees partnership with AMS Teams, translating policies and procedures for client account teams, ensuring alignment with compliance standards and successful deployment of new or improved processes or tools. Measuring and reporting levels of adherence, escalating issues as necessary. Acquisition of New Data Sources – partner with AMS Teams to identify data acquisition opportunities, building productive relationships with external vendors to acquire external data sets efficiently and compliantly to enhance data collection activities. Compliance Metrics & Auditing – creates I&I data governance compliance and quality standards, implementing and tracking adherence to regulatory requirements and internal polices in partnership with quality assurance teams. Oversee documentation & assessment criteria for regular audits of I&I Hub team processes and outputs. Consolidate findings & recommendations, working with AMS client account teams to deliver Continuous Improvement. Value Proposition – ensures all data sets collected are built to align with I&I strategy of aggregated, enterprise reporting services for AMS and can be utilized to create impactful case studies underpinning the data value proposition. Data Compliance – partners with AMS Data Compliance team to keep up to date with new data-related compliance standards required of I&I teams, ensuring all processes and procedures are updated and I&I teams are informed and enabled as needed. Data Usage and Adoption – ensures strong organizational engagement with insights and data analysis in order to increase effective data-based decision making, improve data democratization and promote a data-driven culture. Data Quality Standard Setting – accountable for setting and improving data quality standards that ensure the accuracy, consistency, timeliness, completeness, and reliability of data from I&I, implemented by the Quality Assurance team and executed by the I&I Hub teams. Data Availability – ensures reports and data analysis are available when needed for internal stakeholders, delivering business continuity and reducing operational disruptions. Data Security – engages I&I teams to reduce data incidents, minimizing risks. Operational Efficiency Metrics – owns reporting and measurement of productivity gains and cost savings resulting from improved data management practices. Skills & Experience You\’ll need to demonstrate: Data Governance – proven track record delivering enterprise-scale data management solutions, ideally in environments with silo\’d Client databases / varying Client security requirements (with the intention to ensure these are governed appropriately). Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and methodologies Data Compliance – experience ensuring organisational compliance to data and reporting-related company, local, and regional requirements. Data Security – experience of upholding and driving strong compliance with data security requirements. Experience with data architecture principles and modern data platforms Stakeholder Management – Experience in partnering with stakeholders in complex organisations across varying levels, including senior leadership and cross functional teams in order to successfully implement data governance processes & procedures. Influencing – ability to influence others of the need to understand and follow data governance best practice standards at all times and to be able to articulate the impact on AMS and our clients for not doing so.
