Role: Maths Teacher Contract: Full time, Part time
Main Purpose of the Role
- To deliver high-quality Maths teaching across the school
- To support the development of the Maths curriculum
- To inspire pupils to achieve their best in Maths
- To contribute to the wider school community
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Maths lessons to all year groups as required
- Contribute to the planning and development of the Maths curriculum
- Monitor and track pupil progress, using assessment data to inform teaching
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share good practice in Maths
- Organise and support enrichment activities, clubs, and events related to Maths
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders about pupil progress and school activities
- Contribute to whole-school priorities and participate in meetings as required
- Maintain high standards of teaching, behaviour and safeguarding in line with school policies
Person Specification
Qualifications and training
- Qualified teacher status
- Degree in Maths or a related subject (or significant teaching experience in the subject)
- Evidence of recent professional development relevant to this role
Experience
- Successful teaching experience in Maths
- Experience of contributing to curriculum development
- Experience working with pupils with a range of abilities and needs
Skills and knowledge
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths and a good understanding of the Maths curriculum
- Ability to plan and deliver outstanding lessons
- Effective assessment and data analysis skills
- Good IT skills and familiarity with educational technology
- Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
