Job Overview

  • Islamia Girls’ School and Brondesbury College are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and dedicated Art Teacher to join our committed and professional teaching team.
  • The successful candidate will be passionate about Art and committed to providing high-quality, engaging and inspiring lessons that enable pupils to develop their creativity, technical skills and confidence. The role will primarily be based at the Art Room in Islamia Girls’ School, also teaching Art to pupils at Brondesbury College, our boys’ school.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a creative practitioner to contribute to the development of Art across both schools and to inspire pupils through a broad, ambitious and engaging curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Art across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE Art and Design.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons.
  • Develop pupils’ artistic, creative and technical skills across a range of media and techniques.
  • Contribute to Art curriculum planning and development.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress and provide appropriate support and challenge.
  • Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations and coursework where required.
  • Maintain a safe, organised and stimulating Art environment.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, clubs and exhibitions.
  • Use digital technology effectively to support teaching and learning.
  • Work collaboratively across Islamia Girls’ School and Brondesbury College.
  • Support the school’s Islamic ethos and wider academic and pastoral life.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote pupil welfare.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification desirable.
  • Degree or recognised qualification in Art, Fine Art, Art & Design or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Art desirable.
  • GCSE Art and Design teaching experience desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of a range of artistic media and techniques.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Good IT and digital skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Commitment to the school’s Islamic ethos and values.
