You'll be working on electrical building services design projects, from concept through to completion, as part of a friendly and experienced design team.

Key Responsibilities Deliver electrical building services design projects from concept through to completion, working independently with limited supervision Design lighting, small power, distribution, fire alarm, emergency lighting and containment systems for commercial, education, healthcare and other buildings Carry out load calculations, cable sizing and protection design Produce clear design drawings, schematics and specifications using the team's design software Make sure designs comply with BS 7671, Part L and other relevant regulations and standards Coordinate your designs with architects, mechanical engineers and the wider project team Attend site visits and design meetings, and respond to technical queries from contractors and clients Review contractor information and drawings, and support the project through to handover Support and mentor less experienced engineers where appropriate About You We're looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer who already works in building services design and can take on projects with little supervision.
Essential Relevant UK experience in electrical building services design, ideally with a few years at a building services design consultancy Able to deliver electrical design projects independently, from concept through to completion Sound knowledge of BS 7671, Part L and other building regulations and standards Experience producing drawings, calculations and specifications to a high standard Strong communication skills and confidence working with architects, mechanical engineers and clients Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available for this role) Based in or within commuting distance of Sheffield Desirable Experience with design software such as Revit, AutoCAD or Dialux HNC, HND, degree or equivalent in electrical engineering Professional membership or working towards chartership (IET or CIBSE) Experience across education, healthcare, commercial or residential projects Please note: this role is not suitable for graduates or candidates with very limited experience.
