My client needs a mechanical design engineer with 3D CAD skills and experience designing special purpose equipment for a range of blue-chip clients. Working in a small team with the support of a well-resourced organisation, you will design and create accurate, detailed manufacturing drawings to customer specification working closely with project and manufacturing engineers to ensure a successfully delivered project. You will enjoy a variety of projects and working in a reasonably fast-paced environment where your creativity and engineering know-how will enable you to deliver elegant solutions to customer issues and see your designs brought into operation. You will ideally have incorporated pneumatic or hydraulic systems into your previous work but other experienced of actuation and control is also helpful. JOB CONTENT: In this varied, engineering-focussed role you will: β Provide detailed design and engineering input to customer projects from engineering stages through design and manufacture. β Interpret customer technical specifications. β Design of mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and assemblies. β Create manufacturing drawings, BoM\βs, parts, assemblies and technical information for manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning. β Ensure compliance with all relevant technical and regulatory standards. β Interact will all levels of customer and company personnel to keep projects on track. WHAT WE\βRE LOOKING FOR: The ideal candidate will: β Be a graduate/HND/HNC in mechanical engineering or equivalent. β Have experience of mechanical design (including 3D AutoCAD / Solidworks etc.) and design review of bespoke special purpose machinery / equipment, an understanding of hydraulics / pneumatics and industrial electrical / control systems. β Understand manufacturing / assembly processes, materials and components. β Be organised with attention to detail, able to plan projects, manage multiple tasks and time productively. β Have Strong communication skills and be confident liaising with customers and colleagues. β Understand project costings and budgets. β Source and procure components to specification and budget.
