We are looking for a number of Project Engineers for a 12-month contract based in Bristol on behalf of Rolls-Royce who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planets vital power needs. Please note that these roles will also involve some limited travel within the UK. SC Clearance is required for this role.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • As a Project Engineer you will lead industrialisation projects focused on introducing new manufacturing capabilities from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 through to TRL8 readiness.
  • Develop high-level factory and production layouts, ensuring efficient workflow, material flow, and operational performance.
  • Specify new manufacturing machinery, production equipment, and tooling required to support programme requirements.
  • Work directly with machine OEMs and equipment suppliers to evaluate, select, procure, and implement manufacturing solutions.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement, purchase orders, delivery, installation, and commissioning activities, ensuring machinery is ordered and deployed in line with project schedules.
  • Manage contractors, OEMs, and external partners during factory setup, equipment installation, and production ramp-up activities, ensuring equipment is delivered and commissioned in the correct sequence.
  • SC Clearance is required for this role.

Requirements for the Project Engineer:

  • Proven experience supporting the setup of new manufacturing facilities, production lines, or factory environments, including factory layout and equipment deployment activities.
  • SC Clearance is required for this role.
  • Strong industrialisation experience, including deploying manufacturing capability within TRL6-TRL8 programmes.
  • Technical engineering background with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and production workflows.
  • Experience developing factory layouts and production line concepts for new manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated experience specifying, selecting, procuring, and implementing manufacturing equipment and capital projects, including coordination with OEMs, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, activities, and delivery milestones.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, purchase orders, and the commercial implications associated with manufacturing equipment investment and factory deployment projects.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred, although candidates from automotive, defence, heavy engineering, or other advanced manufacturing sectors will also be considered.
