Junior Data Analyst role within The Analytics Support Centre, a Cardiff-based delivery centre that supports engagement teams worldwide with data extraction and upload into the custom Analytics platform. The Analytics Support Centre aims to enhance audit quality and provide meaningful client insights, contributing to a high-quality and distinctive client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for engagement teams using the Analytics platform, troubleshooting or handling general functionality queries and providing guidance in its use.
  • Support data acquisition and extraction from clients' accounting systems.
  • Handle manipulation and upload of complex data sets from various finance systems across multiple business areas and clients into the platform.
  • Maintain a high-level understanding of the supported system and use Microsoft SQL to troubleshoot issues raised by the audit practice via the help desk system.
  • Potentially develop and maintain various bespoke projects outside the analytics platform on a client-by-client basis.
  • Conduct data quality checks, escalating to the audit practice or client as necessary.
  • Assist relevant teams in troubleshooting platform or bespoke solution issues.

Qualifications

  • A degree with a 2.2 or above, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a science-related field. Other qualifications will also be considered.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel (including formulas such as SUM, COUNT, IF, VLOOKUP, ISERROR).
  • Enthusiasm and demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Previous experience with a structured programming language such as C#, VBA, C++, or SQL is highly beneficial.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles is beneficial but not required.

Contract & Location

We are AMS. We are a global total workforce solutions firm. AMS is seeking multiple Junior Data Analysts for a 6-month contract based in Cardiff and Newcastle. This is a hybrid role with expected travel to the Cardiff/Newcastle office. Successful candidates will attend a two-week mandatory training period in the Cardiff/Newcastle office.
