About the team
Our Business Recovery team helps companies when they go into difficulty, advising on the best solution for the company and running the full end-to- end recovery process. You will be supporting the Insolvency Practitioners, taking over the cashier and book keeping duties which will include the management of several estate bank accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and close estate bank accounts as required
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between company records and financial institution statements
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, maintaining compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including maintaining ledgers, recording transactions, and reconciling accounts
- Handle the processing and execution of payments to creditors, ensuring timely and accurate settlement of invoices
- Conduct thorough company searches to gather business intelligence and support due diligence efforts
- Oversee the processing of financial transactions, including payment batches and internal transfers
- Carry out a range of general administrative duties, such as maintaining financial records, filing documentation, responding to queries, and supporting the wider team as needed
Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks, prioritising workload effectively, and maintaining a structured approach to daily responsibilities
- High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial records, administrative tasks, and overall documentation
- Prior experience in administrative and bookkeeping functions would be highly desirable, especially familiarity with accounting software and day-to-day financial operations

Working hours & location:
