On Behalf of Arup, we are looking for a SOC Analyst for a 12 month contract based in London with remote working available. Purpose of the role: We are seeking an experienced SOC Analyst (Tier 2) to join a global Cyber Security team, playing a critical role in protecting a diverse technology estate from evolving cyber threats. This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional who enjoys investigating complex security incidents, threat hunting, and working across cloud, endpoint, identity, network, and application environments. You'll take ownership of escalated investigations, support incident response activities, and help strengthen the organisation's overall cyber resilience. What you'll do: Investigate and respond to escalated security alerts and incidents from Tier 1 analysts. Perform detailed analysis of security events using SIEM, EDR, cloud, identity, and network security tools. Determine the scope, severity, and business impact of security incidents. Conduct proactive threat hunting activities based on intelligence and emerging attack techniques. Coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery activities with technology and incident response teams. Improve detection effectiveness through SIEM tuning, playbook development, and operational enhancements. Document investigations, findings, and recommendations with clear and accurate reporting. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Tier 1 analysts. Collaborate with Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, SIEM Engineering, and wider Cyber Operations teams. The skills you'll need: Experience working within a SOC, Cyber Defence, Incident Response, or Security Operations environment. Hands-on experience investigating security alerts and incidents using SIEM and EDR technologies. Knowledge of cloud, endpoint, identity, and network security monitoring. Strong understanding of cyber attack techniques, Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), and the incident response lifecycle. Familiarity with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK. Experience supporting containment and remediation activities during active security incidents. Excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
