On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs, we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer - Continuous Improvement for a 12 month contract based in Derby.
Job description - the role
- Working with our Design and Specialist teams to ensure robust and achievable definition of product which meets the demanding service life requirements.
- Creating and managing industrialisation plans in accordance with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and creating manufacturing process routes, methods, and technical instructions to manufacture new product in the facility.
- Collaborating with other engineers and supply chain to define trial and production tooling, inspection processes using the latest metrology systems and develop automation and NC programs to produce and finish components.
- Using a structured approach to solve problems, finding root cause and implementing and sustaining robust fixes.
- Validating new product for use in production engines by First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) and Method Verification.
- Attaining Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) approval, demonstrating product quality and rate.
What we are looking for
- An engineering or other relevant discipline degree/HND/HNC and previous experience working in a manufacturing engineering role.
- Strong analytical skills and a proven record of technical problem-solving.
- Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting to varied audiences.
- You will be an enthusiastic candidate with a flexible attitude to work.
- Good team working skills are essential.
