Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides everyday banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The bank's expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate Banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Data Modeller for a 3 month contract based in London with remote working available (Hybrid).

Purpose of the role: This role will play a critical part in translating complex business requirements into governed, standardised data structures that align with enterprise architecture, data product strategies, and data risk management objectives. This is a highly collaborative position, working closely with business stakeholders, data owners, SMEs, architects, and analysts to design and maintain data models that support business outcomes while ensuring strong data governance and quality standards.

What you'll do:

  • Own, maintain and continuously improve enterprise data models across multiple business domains.
  • Translate business and data requirements into conceptual, logical and physical data models.
  • Support data design activities, design reviews, and data quality investigations.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, SMEs and Data Owners to ensure data solutions meet business needs.
  • Create and maintain data contracts, data definitions and metadata documentation.
  • Support the management of data lineage and data governance requirements.
  • Promote enterprise data standards, modelling frameworks and best practices.
  • Ensure data structures are fit for purpose, scalable and minimise data risk.
  • Contribute to data architecture initiatives that strengthen governance and improve data management capabilities.

The skills you'll need:

  • Hands-on experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect (EA) is essential.
  • Extensive experience in conceptual, logical and physical data modelling.
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling techniques including 3NF, Dimensional Modelling, Data Vault and NoSQL approaches.
  • Hands-on experience managing data products, metadata, lineage and data definitions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience working within regulated environments, preferably Financial Services.
  • Ability to transform business requirements into robust data models and technical designs.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality and data risk management.
