On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs, we are looking for a Data Engineer in Procurement for a 12 Month contract based in Derby (2-3 days per week on-site).
The Role & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Data Engineer (Procurement Data focus) to join a Procurement Data & Analytics team. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and business intelligence, with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining a procurement data warehouse and enabling high-quality reporting outputs.
The successful candidate will work closely with procurement stakeholders and IT teams to transform complex SAP and procurement datasets into structured, accessible, and actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a procurement data warehouse using Microsoft Fabric
- Design and implement data pipelines and ETL processes
- Structure data into staging, fact, and dimension tables
- Integrate and transform SAP procurement data (vendor, orders, users, spend data)
- Develop reporting datasets and support Power BI / Tableau dashboards
- Work with procurement stakeholders to gather requirements and define data needs
- Translate complex data into clear, usable business insights
- Support data quality, governance, and access management
- Contribute to process mapping and definition of data flows across systems
Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in Data Engineering or BI Development
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing (fact/dimension modelling)
- Strong SQL and data transformation (ETL/ELT) skills
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric (or similar modern data platforms)
- Strong Power BI (Tableau also beneficial)
- Experience working with SAP data (preferred)
- Familiarity with Databricks (nice to have)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering skills
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions
- Experience in enterprise or large-scale data environments desirable
