We are looking for an Kubernetes Engineer for an 12 Month Day Rate Contract on a hybrid basis in Belfast . Deloitte is seeking an experienced Kubernetes Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team on an initial 12-month contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes-based platforms, supporting the delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native solutions. What you'll do; Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across cloud and/or on-premises environments. Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerised applications using Kubernetes and Docker. Implement infrastructure automation and platform engineering best practices. Collaborate with development, architecture, security, and operations teams to deliver cloud-native solutions. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated application delivery. Monitor platform performance, availability, and security, proactively identifying areas for improvement. The skills you'll need: Strong commercial experience with Kubernetes (K8s) administration and engineering. Hands-on experience with Docker and containerisation technologies. Experience with at least one major cloud platform: Azure AWS Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Strong understanding of Linux systems administration. Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as: Azure DevOps Jenkins GitHub Actions GitLab CI Infrastructure as Code experience using: Terraform Ansible Bicep or equivalent Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as: Prometheus Grafana ELK Stack Splunk Strong troubleshooting and performance optimisation skills. Technical & Ways of Working Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS). Experience with OpenShift. Service Mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd). GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD or Flux. Experience in regulated financial services or large enterprise environments. Exposure to platform engineering and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
