On behalf of our globally respected client who develops cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs, we are looking for a Skilled Welder for a 12-month contract based in Bristol.

Job description - the role

On a typical day as a Skilled Welder, you will be expected to:

  • Engage in Health and Safety activity.
  • Produce components at the highest quality.
  • Follow Manufacturing Instructions and Data Cards.
  • Work to meet high volume requirements.

As a Skilled Welder, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining our excellent quality standards, being an integral part of our manufacturing process.
  • Welding of Nickel, Steel and Alloys using various processes including TIG welding in accordance with defined specifications and procedures, as detailed within the Manufacturing Instructions and Data Cards.
  • Working to tight tolerances; experience of this will need to be demonstrated at interview.
  • Working within strict HS&E guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Having a basic IT knowledge, as we work within a cutting-edge manufacturing facility.

What we require from the candidate:

  • Completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship including City and Guilds, NVQ3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline (original trade papers must be available for review at interview).
  • Experience of Welding Aerospace standards.
  • Experience in working with Nickels/Steels and Alloys.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings (considered an asset).
  • Professional and flexible attitude, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
  • Able and willing to work a multi-shift pattern including nights.
  • Be self-motivated, with the ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Understand how to maintain a clean and safe environment in the workplace and how to work to set deadlines to achieve performance targets.
  • An up-to-date working knowledge of health, safety (including COSHH) and environmental procedures.
